Statutory Duties and Obligations

 

Fire Precautions

 

Lessees should familiarise themselves with the fire information on display, identify the location of fire equipment and exits and advise all members of their group of the steps to be taken in the event of a fire.

 

(Lessees should note that the Fire Alarm system in the Amenities Centre has no back up power supply.  Should there be an interruption of electricity supply to the building the lessee should ensure that procedures are in place to warn all members of their group of fire and carry out an evacuation – NB. Emergency lighting in the facility does have a back up supply and all fire exits will be lit even in the event of mains power failure).

 

Lessees should ensure that no fire exits or escape routes are blocked during their let.

 

Please notify the bookings secretary of any incidents involving emergency, or accidental, use of fire safety equipment during the let.

 

 

 

Food Safety and Food Hygeine

 

If the event involves the preparation of food then the lessee must ensure compliance with all relevant legislation including:

 

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and associated regulations.

The Food Safety Act 1990 and associated regulations.

The lessee must ensure compliance with the requirements of the Theatres Act 1968, the Performing Rights Society and Phonographic performances Licence
